I enjoy long walks in the park, toy-free hallways, unoccupied bathrooms, non-sticky furniture and uninterrupted sleep between the hours of 11pm and 5am. Unfortunately, only long walks in the park are my reality.
I'll be sharing my adventures of self-discovery while sipping a 'Mommy-on-the-rocks' with a lemon twist. I dedicate this blog to all moms who sometimes feel handcuffed by kids.
The Adventures of Grandma Duckee
“I had found a kind of serenity, a new maturity… I didn’t feel better or stronger than anyone else but it seemed no longer important whether everyone loved me or not —more important now was for me to love them. Feeling that way turns your whole life around; living becomes the act of giving. —Beverly Sills”
I’ve taken on many adventures in my life thus far. I’ve climbed inside the Great Pyramid of Giza, sailed and swam in the Nile, even went paragliding in Spain. But the greatest challenge yet is maneuvering the toy-filled hallway at night trying to make it to the bathroom. I’m convinced that stepping on a lego can bring even Olympic champions to their knees. Ouch!
